Sheila Dunnells, Ph.D., NYS Licensed Teacher, Co-Occurring Disorders Professional; Licensed -Alcohol & Drug Counselor; Certified Bereavement Counselor; Anger Management Certificate.
I am a mother, wife, sister, grand aunt, friend. I am a grandmother who believes I have the right to carry concealed to protect my life and yours. I am licensed to do so in PA. I love my West Highland Terrier, McKenzie. She and I are a Therapy Dog Team and she is in training to become a Diabetes Alert Dog. We volunteer our time to visit the elderly and displaced kids.
My son describes me as: Culture Warrior; Dinner Hour Pundit; Mama/ Grandma Grizzly, Conservo-Blogger. We all live between Long Island, the Poconos and Main Line PA. Some reasons are work related; some just for fun. We travel the US in our Winnebago, Profile, and pretend we are glampers (glamorous camping). Truth be told, my husband and I have an RV so that our Westie can travel with us.
First and foremost, I am a teacher! I am a licensed NYS Educator with experience in career counseling, teaching English, and Public Relations. For 22 years, I have been educating people on how to resolve their issues. In short, I am a problem solver.
I hold Certification as a Co-Occurring Disorders Professional (CCDP) and also as a Credentialed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC). Both certifications are under the jurisdiction of the ICRC. (The International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium). This allows me to work in every state in the US that shares reciprocity, plus some foreign countries. I also hold a Credential in Bereavement Counseling and have a Certificate in Anger Management.
